Pours a cloudy, golden amber coloration with a medium, fluffy head that fades to nothing quickly. Smells of light doughy malt and passion fruit and papaya, with hints of pineapple as well. Taste is a good balance of light doughy malt and tropical notes of passion fruit, papaya and pineapple, with a good acidity lingering in the aftertaste. Finishes with a medium tartness and some passion fruit, papaya and pineapple lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a light/medium body and medium carbonation.
While this is a bit one-dimensional, with the tropical additives also not feeling quite as vibrant as I had hoped for, this makes for an enjoyable, easy-drinking thirst-quencher with a good balance of sweet tropical notes and lactic acidity, which is probably better suited to warmer temperatures though. Also, once you put fruits into a "Berliner Weiße", it ceases to be one in my opinion, becoming a Fruited Kettle Sour instead. Overall, this makes for a decent, refreshing summer beer, that is not too exciting though.
