Pours an opaque, pitch-black coloration with a medium, mocha-colored, creamy head. Smells of roasted, caramel malt, chocolate, coffee, dark fruit and spice, with notes of raisin, plum, vanilla and cinnamon, as well as just ahint of rum-soaked oak. Taste is an excellent balance of roasted, caramel malt, chocolate, coffee, dark fruit, with notes of raisin, plum and fig, spice, with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla, as well as some licorice, brown sugar, tobacco and bourbon-soaked oak also coming through. Finishes with a light/medium sweetness and some chocolate, dark fruit, spice and brown sugar lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a rich body and low/medium carbonation.

The Silver series from Pühaste rarely disappoints and this is another fine example of that. I also love that they often make use of less common barrels rather than the typical bourbon barrels, which always makes for an interesting drinking experience. I'm getting a lot of spice from this, which I rather enjoy, although also a lot of brown sugar, which I enjoy less. Still, there's a good overall balance here, with the sweetness never becoming quite overbearing thanks to those roasted and spicy notes, as well as some oak. It feels rather rich and complex as well, with all those notes of chocolate, coffee, dark fruit, spice, brown sugar, licorice, tobacco and oak, almost bringing to mind a rum-soaked Jamaican Fruit Cake. Perhaps just a tad too sweet and boozy for my personal taste overall, but still rather enjoyable, with a deep, rich complexity and body to it.
