Pours an opaque, pitch-black coloration, with a medium, creamy head. Smells of toasted malt, coffee and condensed milk and hints of chocolate. Taste is a good balance of toasted, slightly roasted malt coffee, red berries, with notes of cranberry and elderberry, lighter chocolate and condensed milk and hints of toffee and licorice. Finishes with a light/medium sweetness and some coffee, red berries and condensed milk lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
While it's thankfully used in moderation, I'm not a huge fan of the condensed milk here, lending a very sweet finish to this, although the toasted, slighty roasted malts, coffee and licorice balance this out somewhat. The coffee doesn't feel that rich, but comes through nicely with the typical fruity berry notes of the variety. I enjoyed this well-enough overall, but the condensed milk just isn't for me, somewhat overlaying the other flavors as well, and I'm sure it would have been a better brew without it.
