Sampling a lightly chilled 16 oz can poured into my snifter. there is no date stamp on the can or the label. I picked this up at the local beer shop on Eisenhower Blvd.
the beer pours a cola brown color, lighter than I expected and a fluffy beige head of 1.5 cm foams up on the pour. This foam fades to a thin edge layer and one wispy island in my glass. I do get some scattered lattice when I swirl the glass, clings a little after the swirl too. Looks fine, but not as dark in color is only ding for me.
Aroma is some light cocoa powder, some caramel, a bit of a nutty note and some brown sugar. Not overly robust nose and no hint of any hop character nor ABV on the aroma.
First sip reveals a medium to light body with fine , gentle carbonation and a bit of a slick texture. Much lighter physically than I expected for an imperial stout.
Flavor is some roasted malt notes and light cocoa powder mixing with a bit of nutty flavor and some caramel. Finish turns a little bitter, but not hops, definitely a roasted malt high cacao chocolate bite. Very dry finish also and no ABV hints anywhere.
This beer is fine, its more or an imperial nut brown ale than a stout though. Id pass next time on this purchase.

Poured from 16 oz can
Pours a deep opaque black with ruby red highlights when held to a bright light
Smells of malt and chocolate
tastes of chocolate, malt and a black barley malt bitterness with a balancing sweetness
Nice firm mouth feel
Overall, a good imperial stout. It would go great on a cool evening
