On-draught @ St Elmo.
11.1% ABV. Balcones barrel aged coffee imperial stout. $9 per pour.
Rich. Syrupy malts, molasses sweetness, treacle, dark malts, subdued roasted barley/coffee roast, chocolate malt, hints of barrel char.
There's enough bitterness to keep all the sweetness in check, but it could use some dialing in balance wise.
Smooth, wet, full-bodied, heavy, unrefreshing.
A nice imperial stout, but I'm not getting overt coffee or whiskey to the extent I'd have hoped. Hides its ABV well.
