Thanks to Ozzylizard for this one.
Pours a deep brown, like charred walnut.Khaki colored head asserts about an inch, stays around for a bit, and leaves slight lacing.
Nose is firmly smokey and earthy, finally a hint of understated sweetness.
Flavor follows. This now shows hints of the uniquely acidic overripe stewed fruit notes that I associate with the stated style.
Mouthfeel is just shy of medium heft, low carbonation, and finishes a bit bitter.

Perfect winter sipper, passed up my usual porter for a case of this and glad I did.

Pours a thick black color and has a huge craggy head. Nice looking beer. Scents of burnt chocolate and hazelnuts come through. There are 2 drawbacks to this pretty good offering. 1) The body is quite thin for a Baltic Porter and 2) It’s a bit boozy. Tastes pleasant with some dark chocolate and fig notes. Easy to drink despite the booziness and very potent at 7.7% abv.

$ 7.00 (Including tax)/four-pack of 12 oz cans ($ 0.146/oz) from Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA. Reviewed 6/21/19.
Undated can. On shelf at point of sale. Stored upside down at 42 degrees and served at 45 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Dark brown, clear.
Body – Brown, opaque. When held to the light, still opaque.
Head – Large (Maximum 6.5 cm, aggressive center pour), tan, high density, average retention, diminishing to a four mm crown and a thin, nearly complete cap. Second pour produces a much smaller head.
Lacing – Fair. Partial ring of mostly tiny to small bubbles
Aroma – 3 - Roasted malt of moderate strength. Fades to nearly nothing.
Flavor – 3.75 – Roasted chocolate malt, slightly bitter. No alcohol taste or aroma (7.7 % ABV), no diacetyl, no dimethylsulfide.
Palate – 3.5 – Medium, creamy, lively carbonation.
Impression and interpretation – 3.5 - (-0.25 points for undated personal container.) Very pleasant, easy drinking porter. The lack of aggressive flavors and relatively low alcohol content keep this firmly in the American Porter camp, despite the name.
