32oz crowler, tulip, canned 6/10/21. Put this one off for awhile, probably because I didn’t have anyone to drink it with.
Very clear, radiant copper color and initially there was a large rush of head, which did fall away quickly leaving only a few scattered bubbles.
Mildly sweet and toasty. Also, oddly, apple cider.
Ok, ok, it does have some apple flavor alongside the breadiness. There’s also a yeastiness, more like bread yeast than lager yeast. Just a tad metallic and a good amount of diacetyl-like buttery sweet flavor.
I’ll chock up the under carbonation to the age of the crowler. The body is a bit thick though.
It’s a decent little lager.
