Tart Farmhouse Ale with Rose Petals, Dry-Hopped with Barbe Rouge & Vista Hops.

Bottle Conditioned with Honey

++Good is newspeak for very, very good and much as that’s an apt description for our dry-hopped farmhouse ale series, our newest version goes beyond. Meet ++Good V(ery) S(pecial) 2023. A dry-hopped farmhouse ale with a blend of French and Oregonian hops as well as pink rose petals. Red currant, blood orange and lychee drive the aroma and the rose petals add not just floral notes but an earthy black pepper quality that intermingles with the brighter fruit notes.

We pulled just 10% of our last batch before dry hopping, to treat entirely separately. We first dry-hopped this sub-batch with a blend of Barbe Rouge and Vista hops, both of which are recent additions to the hop scene. Barbe Rouge are Alsatian French hops with lots of red fruit and berry character and Vista hops were developed in Oregon and lean into tropical and citrus notes. After dry-hopping, we added pink rose petals to the beer for just a brief period before bottling with local orange blossom honey.

750 mL bottle into Cellador Syndicate wine glass

Cloudy, yellow-tan appearance, super sudsy head that actually overflows the glass on a gentle pour.

Floral, honey-sweet bouquet. Nuances of earthy funk linger.

More robust on the palate. Tart, melon-y, biscuity, oaky. Coriander and lemon pepper accent the flavors. Rose and honey work as an anchor, offering equal weight to the profile. Medium finish, gentle earthy residuals linger for a few moments.
