Split a bomber on a business trip, tawny brown body with a thin cap of tan foam. Smell has really nice vinous qualities, decent oak, but the underlying saison is more earthy and herbal than expected. Taste rounds out a bit more with some belgian yeast, some bready grains, and hints of boozy bitter stone fruit. While the taste works for me the feel is a little harsh, but not from the booze, rather the saison malts and grains itself. Rustic, vinous, and sneaky bready. Really liked the barrel influence and some aspects of the rustic saison, but needed some balancing before the finish.

L - pours a nice thick head which dissipates fast, but keeps a thin creamy head as it sits. Looking through a clear glass it's brown and clear, no haze at all.
S - a little earthy and herbal, but more spicy
T - earthy and herbal, with a little spice. More malty and bready, with little to no bitter aftertaste. This reminds me of a Fat Tire but you can tell it's barrel aged.
F - creamy and smooth, medium carbonation. Clean aftertaste, and slightly warm going down.
O - a good classic example of a Belgian style saison, besides not being hazy at all. Adding its own uniqueness being aged in wine barrels from Napa valley
