Whitespace is a traditional witbier made with Seville orange zest and Indian coriander to round out the light-to-medium body of the wheat beer and Belgian yeast.

Whitespace is the dead space in an email. Like when you're typing an email, fall asleep on the return key, and create all kinds of whitespace in your email. Oh also, the beer is white/wit so there's that.

Now having had 12 Lo Rez ales and this is their second wit. On a personal note, this wit gives me more wits than either APAs or AIPAs. (Who among you can claim that?)

Compared to its wit brethren, Whitespace could have a more active yeast. This produce more foam; but it does have an attractive orange Look to its pale. Also only slightly above average for wits, Whitespace Smells a fruit medley, but the orange seems muted. Tastes are balanced; the coriander and hops control the sweet malt. It is refreshing enough for a hot day. Whitespace could have a softer mouth (more wheat?); but, the bubbles do clear the palate for more food and paired well with summer fare of a burger and salad.

I like Lo Rez. For a 5 year old, they brew well in the Belgian tradition. I would like to visit their taproom, but a larger food menu might encourage me to go there.

7/31/22 A year later, this second release certainly seems like they took my suggestion about a yeastier yeast. The banana is more prominent. Taste seems more balanced, able to handle the vinegars of summer salads. I still haven't visited Lo Rez but might soon if I get properly disciplined as they are higher on my list.
