Dark reddish-brown ale, infused with the sweet malt aroma of toffee and a dry finish. Light body with low carbonation gives the perception of a much bigger beer.

Dark amber in color with off white head. Nose is sweet and malty most like sweet bread. Atypical taste for a porter. More tea flavor than anything else.

Pours dark amber from the bottle to a mug with no foam. Nice moderate carbonation. Slight sweet toasted toffe.

Enjoyed from the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This nice brown ale pours a
amber tinged brown color with a light Scottish like clarity and features a light
white foam that subsides to a thick ring, thin wispy pool, and features some
subtle lacing. Nose of light toasted malts, sweet caramel malts, and subtle
light nutty malt notes. Flavors exceed the nose by presentation alone. Sweet
caramel and honey touched malts meld with nutty malt notes and a very light
floral hop flavor that offers subtle balance. Nice mouth feel; medium light body,
medium light carbonation that is soft and refreshing, and a medium light finish.
An ale of true subtleties and nice balance.
Overall, very nice and solid from a newer brewery.
Cheers

True to style, gently complex and robustly smooth, northern Kentucky's Wooden Cask brewing team isn't messing around with adventure, experimentation nor standing out. But by not doing any of that, they are standing out with a time honored taste in brown ale.
7th Street Runoff pours as brown as you'd think, but it does so with near bright clarity while casting a creamy eggshell foam. Classic toffee and chocolate aromas roll onto the senses with a nutty and caramel-like drift. Sweet malts share those toffee and caramel flavors as the early palate balances clearly toward the malt.
But as the flavors roll onto the middle palate, its sweetness relaxes and a sense of dry toastiness sets in. Hints of coffee and toasted pecan begin to supplant the sheer sweetness until the taste comes within even keel balance. While playfully floral on the nose, the beer's hop character trends broadly across the finis with woodsy and herbal bitterness for a snappy and semidry taste.
Medium bodied but with a crisp and drying finish, the brown ale has a robust demeanor early but finishes highly drinkable and damn near sessionable. perfect for a range of foods including barbocoa tacos, sausage pizza and fresh baked breads. A hint of toasted nuttiness shares a medium length aftertaste with those crisp hop flavors in tow.
