Dark brown in color with ruby highlights and a long-lasting off-white head. The toasted bread and dark fruit flavors combine for a very rich palate.

New in brand but old in style, Wooden Cask harks back to a classic English brown ale for sensibility, heartiness and charm.

Pouring, well... medium brown in color and faintly hazy, NewPorter releases a slow and creamy off white froth and a bold scent of chocolate, coffee, nuttiness and toast. Sweeter in taste, the malt-centric balance starts with caramel, toffee, candied pecan and hints of chocolate while a hop sensibility balances the sweetness with a broad and coffee-like bitterness that lurks in the background.

Medium-full and tasting richer than its body shows, the beer is a bold taste but daringly drinkable for a session of great flavor and feel.

Dark black and color with an off-white/tan head that leaves decent lacing. Slight cola on the nose. Nice slight char flavor almost cocoa comes through. Decent bit of bitterness.

L: mammoth light beige head forms when poured into the pint glass. Serious head. Root beer float head. Dark hues with redness underneath. Retention is getting in the way of drinking
S: dark malty aroma.
T:: solid. A bit of forced smokiness dominates
F: smooth. Smokey throughout
O: very good, very smoky and very carbonated

Pours medium brown with no head into a chilled mug. Flavour of toady caramel with a little too much carbonation so that it kind of sizzles. A pleasant beer.

12 ounce bottle, no dating on it that I was able to find. Thanks to Brutaltruth for this brew! Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a clear dark reddish/brown color with about a quarter inch light tan head that fizzled away quickly. Not much lacing at all. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like cocoa, toasted malt, dark bread, and a bit of coffee. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some earthy, raisin and brown sugar flavors noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is on the light side of medium, it's slick, smooth and easy to drink with decent carbonation. I thought this was a nice porter, hope to try this one at the source one of these days!

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This nice little porter pours a
medium dark chestnut brown color with a decent head of off white
foam that subsides to a thick ring, thin light pool, and shows subtle
lacing. Nose of toffee, nicely toasted malts, sweet chocolate malts,
and touches of brown sugar and biscuit. Flavors exceed the nose
with breaded malts and nicely toasted malts with a note of chocolate
and light toffee with a nicely added coffee note. Nice mouth feel;
medium body, medium light carbonation, and a wet finish.

Overall, a fantastic little brew worthy of a good session.

Cheers

L) Pours a lovely, coffee brown that retains a smidge of translucency. There is an off-white head that has very little retention.

S) Coffee, biscuits, and toasted pecans. This is a pleasure to sniff.

T) The beer has a very "wet" taste, I quite enjoy how the melody of flavors in the nose lingers on the tongue. There is also a bit of toffee and dark chocolate that I was not getting on the nose.

F) Medium low carbonation, a bit thin.

O) Quite a nice English porter, not super strong, but not stylistically inaccurate.
