Scottish Stout aged in New Riff bourbon barrels transferred to Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels (thus the double barrel appellation). Copious amounts of cocoa nibs added to the barrel provide a subtle brownie flavor.

12 oz can marked 12% into a pint glass. A hard pour resulted in just a 1/4 inch of mocha tinted foam that settles to nothing. Deep dark black abyss as expected no light to escape. Big Caramel sweet woody bourbon vanilla toffee notes hard to really pick out any cocoa roast or coffee but its in there. Mixes all together to make a very sweet brew wood isn't very bitter or herbal beats you over the head with sweetness toffee caramel bourbon all bright damn sweet. Body is amazing at 12% its a heavy powerhouse but I don't get any harsh burns or sour mash notes.
Overall for a 4 dollar can it's brilliant imperial stout with a sweetness that rivals Black Tuesday but a more approachable ABV. Great BBA stout!

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This mighty brew pours a dark muddled blackish brown
with a nice head of tan foam that settles to a thick ring, thin clumping layer, and shows
some nice light lacing. Nose of rich bourbon, rich vanilla, oak, mild cocoa, dark coffee,
light char, and deep roasted malts with brownie batter elements. Flavors follow the
nose nicely with dark chocolate, mellow coffee, rich bourbon, subtle cream, wondrous
vanilla notes, oak, light char, deep roast, and warming booze amongst some dark berry
notes of black and cranberry. Nice mouth feel; medium full verging on a full body,
smooth, rich, warming, inviting, light carbonation, and a bourbon, vanilla, and dark
chocolate finish akin to a brownie.....NICE!
Overall----Wow, the strong beer experts in these parts. Excellent balance
and a wonderful brew.
Congrats!
Cheers

Had it at the brewery.
Pours pitch black with a thin brown head.
Fantastic flavor, not too crazy on the cocoa.
Would drink more of it if it wasn't for the ABV...
