A big thanks to @jzeilinger for the can! First experience with wooden cask
12oz can poured into Boulevard tulip

P black w/ a small tan head that receded almost instantly
N bold nose of barrel, maple, and bourbon
T follows nose w/ a delicious profile of dark fruit (both jammy and dried notes), earthiness, tobacco, vanilla, maple and plenty of barrel; bourbon is well-incorporated; baker's choc in there as well; light-med heat in the finish, really nice
Mf smooth, lightly creamy, airy; med-bodied with med to med-high carb
O excellent stuff all the way around, great first impression of the brewery

A - Dark brown pour that's bordferline black and dense toffee colored lacing.

S - Light chocolate roast and maple on the nose with a slight bit of stickiness.

T - Chocolate roast, chocolate roast sweetness, maple, vanilla, oak, and Whiskey from start to finish. The Whiskey presence slaps you in the face on the first few sips but gradually subsides a little as the beer warms allowing the maple and vanilla to shine a little more.

M - Big medium body with a silky, light syrupy texture.

O - The Whiskey presence has a slight "edge" to it and not completely rounded but it doesn't detract from the overall experience. I'm glad I found this beer, 'would definitely buy it again!

12oz bottle from the brewery in my snifter glass.
Pours a deep brown color with a bubbly, khaki, finger thick head. Head dissipates fairly quick.
Aroma is big on bourbon with notes of maple and dark chocolate.
Taste is much like what the nose picked up with distinctive dark chocolate bitterness and maple flavor.
Medium/full body with high carbonation.
Another nice brew from this outstanding Northern Kentucky brewery!

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This excellent stout
pours a dark muddy black with thin light brown highlights
and a decent head of off white foam that settles to a thick ring,
thin dusty layer, and shows light lacing. Nose of bourbon,
maple, vanilla, light char, roast, chocolate, and faint oak.
Flavors turn it up to 11....dark semisweet chocolate,
bourbon, vanilla, light cream, light oak, maple,
subtle coffee, and warming booze with subtle
dark fruits. Nice mouth feel, full body,
smooth as silk, lightly coating, moderately
warming, low carbonation, and a
rich, full, and moderately dry finish.

Overall----more excellence from an excellent brewery!

Cheers!
