Pours a dark copper color, clear; dense, lively carbonation; thick, loosely frothy head. Lightly spicy nose encased in a dry, oaken aroma. Very nice taste; sweet and spicy rye notes with an amplified sense of bourbon; fine dark fruit esters; very minor hop bitterness. Heavy body; smooth and slippery on the palate; a moderate amount of boozy warmth.

I don't recall if I've ever had any barrel aged Scotch beers before, let alone rye barrel-aged, but it's a great concept. Other than a relatively weak smell, the beer is solid all around, especially the taste. Good stuff.

Reddish in color with off white head. Nose is all the way whiskey. Not sure any beer entered the whiskey barrel but whiskey came out. Not as much warmth as I thought there would be.

Appearance - From the tap, the beer was murky brown with a white head.

Smell - The nose was pleasantly boozy with a malty backbone.

Taste - This scotch ale was very boozy. It had an excellent bourbon profile. With the malt profile, it was smooth and oaky. The base beer was a bit thin, otherwise this was delicious.

Mouthfeel - The body was a bit thin, which hid the base beer. The carbonation was still present.

Overall - This was my favorite beer froom Wooden Cask.

A - Chestnut amber colored pour with some slight haze and dense light caramel colored lacing encircling the edge.

S - Lightly toasted sweet caramel / toffee malt, Whiskey and vanilla.

T - Toasted toffee caramel malt base from start to finish with a nice added blend of Whiskey, vanilla, and a little bit of cherry. Finishes on the sweeter side with a nice lingering Whiskey/toffee/cherry on the back side.

M - Big medium body with low carbonation giving a nice silky texture. There is minimal warming on the way down, especially for 10.5%.

O - This is a really nice, unobtrusive, easy sipping barrel aged Scotch Ale. Worth checking out.

Single can from Party Town
Deep amber color with a red hue with a thin head, fair retention.
Distinct whisky aroma with notes of dark fruit and vanilla.
Taste follows suit with a bold boozy character.
Definitely worth a try, I enjoyed it a lot.

12 ounce bottle, no dating that I noticed on there. Big thanks to Brutaltruth for this one! Served in a thistle glass, the beer pours a dark brown color with some reddish tinges. There's about a half inch tan head that didn't stick around for too long, and there's a decent amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like rye whiskey, oak, caramel, dark fruit, vanilla and some peatiness. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some toffee, cherry and earthy flavors. Good amount of rye whiskey barrel character in both the aroma and taste. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit slick and has a moderate amount of carbonation. Overall I thought it was an enjoyable brew, definitely worth a try if you get the chance!

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This solid little brew pours
a nice medium dark mahogany with a decent head of white foam that
settles to a thick ring, thin dusty layer, and shows some subtle lacing.
Nose of spicy rye whiskey, vanilla, oak, and peat with caramel malts.
Flavors exceed the nose with a nice presentation of spicy rye whiskey,
vanilla, oak, subtle tobacco, cherry notes, brown sugars, and light peat
malt hints. Nice mouth feel; medium body, lightly coating, smooth,
warming, light carbonation, and a medium dry finish that is nice and
warming.

Overall, another solid brew from a great little brewery!

Cheers
