12 ounce bottle, thanks to Brutaltruth for this one! Labeled as a Bourbon Barrel Aged Oatmeal Amber Ale, no dating that I could find on the bottle or label. Served in a snifter, the beer pours a murky brown color with about a half inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like bourbon, vanilla, caramel and oak. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some bready malt and chocolate flavors noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's smooth and a bit slick and creamy with a low/moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good overall barrel aged amber ale, worth picking up if you get the chance to!

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This unique hybrid labeled as an
"Bourbon Barrel Aged Oatmeal Amber Ale" but labeled at the brewery as
a stout (?!?!?!?) pours a dark muddy brown with a decent head of white
foam that settles to a thick ring, thin sparse layer, and shows off some nice
lacing. Nose of spicy rye, bourbon, chocolate, booze, caramel, light vanilla,
and touches of oak. Flavors hit the mark with bourbon, spicy rye, mellow
oak, mild vanilla, moderate caramel, dark chocolate, and faint cream notes.
Nice mouth feel; smooth, lightly creamy, warming, light carbonation, and
finishing faintly dry.
Overall, a fantastic brew....just a little confusion on the "style" which Untappd
has as an oatmeal stout....still....very nice, just confused on the style.
Cheers
