This can was given to me from the mighty jzeilinger and I felt like reviewing it. Pours a dark brown, fluffy tan head on top that settles to a thin ring around the edge of the glass. The smell of the beer right from the can is immediate whiskey, even after pouring it and letting breathe a bit there is still a dominant whiskey aroma to it. Not much in way of roast or spice. The taste is basically watered down whiskey, VERY subtle spice but hardly any chocolate or anything remotely “stout-like”. The feel reminded me more of a Schwarzbier, hardly drinks like an 11% stout. Overall it’s ok, but really leaves a lot to the imagination.

Canned on: 2-10-23
A - Black pour with dark caramel colored lacing around the perimeter.
S - Light cocoa and a slight bit of sweet chocolate roast buried deep underneath and a little bit of pepper spice. Has an odd nose with a homebrew character.
T - Bourbon and toasted cocoa with an underlying gravel-char.
M - Big medium body with some heat in the back of the throat. Finishes wet on the palate.
O - This beer, unfortunately, is a total mess. It's still green and I have three more cans, will revisit at a later date and hope/give the flavors more time to blend.
