Appears as a fairly clear, dark reddish copper color in the glass; coarse carbonation; thin head, off-white. Light caramel nose with a dry white oak quality. Uniquely sweet taste overall; a sense of cinnamon; fairly strong whisky undercurrent. Heavy body; somewhat slick and viscous.
I'm adding this beer to my list of beers that should have been tried fresher. I didn't pick up much wheat quality and very little of the cinnamon and molasses used in its creation. This isn't a bad beer per se. It does have an interesting taste quality to it, and the barrel aging seems to be balanced, but the weak appearance and nose don't help with the overall impression of the beer.
