decidedly new school, this is a really drinkable hazy ipa, dangerous because i cant set the glass down and its sneaky strong, one of the better iowa made hoppy beers i have had from anyone not named toppling goliath. it seems these types of beers are happening just about everywhere now, and it makes sense why. this is such a great expression of the hops, all aroma and almost no bitter here, juicy and fruity and new tasting to me, mosaic heavy to my nose, but there are definitely some others at work as well, it almost smells wet hopped, pineapple from the can and a little citrus zest too, yum! the flavor is almost as good as the nose, sort of weighty feeling from the grain which is nice to boost up the hops, its not grainy tasting at all, but it is sturdy, very well built. mosaic is powerful here, some citra i think too, very summery and juicy tasting, without that vegetal weirdness and intensity i am starting to get more and more in everyones double dry hopped this and that, its more refined, and it awesome. on the dry side but oily and almost rich feeling from all the hops in here, but really good carbonation and a slow fade at the end, not bittered to crispness, not hardly. a great glass of beer, nothing new in this day and age of cloudy ipa, but its better than most others are doing them...
