We see the surprise and the fear in your eyes as we raise this glass of Kentucky Common...
Known best as a pre-prohibition style, Kentucky Common Ales are showing up in all kinds of places. Approachable with a welcoming bitterness, this is a beer that celebrates both diversity and heritage in brewing.

Very pretty dark copper color, big foamy head at pour. Lot of different flavors going on here, which is what I usually like. Not as bread like as the other rye beer I had before. There is a spiciness here but it is also more subtle. I think the bitterness is a bit too pronounced for this kind of beer, I'd prefer more sweetness. Regardless this is more than decent.

On tap at the brewery. Dark reddish amber in color, with an evanescent off-white head that settled to a thin ring. Malt forward, with some peppery spice and and a sour note on the palate. Medium bodied, this has some pleasant bitterness and a kick of spice on the finish. This is one of the styles I'd like to see more of, so this was a pleasant surprise.
