a really murky ipa, but the grapefruit aspect is natural and awesome. it kind of looks like grapefruit juice in the glass, cloudy like that and not as lively as it could be, but with a killer aroma of fresh grapefruit, even ahead of the hops here, but plenty of bitterness still obvious, summery and attractive. the flavor is all grapefruit to me, a little pale and even wheat malt underneath, dry cereals there, supportive but simple. the fruit overtakes any hops for sure, and while this is still bitter, so is grapefruit, and it seems like it gets most of its character from the fruit not the hops, and that calling this one an ipa might be a little bit of a stretch. that said though, it tastes really good, bright and zesty and fleshy and the right mix of acidic and sweet. lots of body here too along with the quenching finishing bitterness, but it could really use a little lift from more carbonation, this sags a bit and gets heavy even with the fresh flavors. its in need of a little fine tuning, but the grapefruit aspect is great and i like the flavor pretty well all up.
