Holy Mother of God! For a relatively new brewery to put out an Imperial Stout aged in Bourbon Barrels that asserts itself immediately into the Founders, Ten-Fidy, KBC, Old Rasputin discussion is nothing short of remarkable. This is an exceptional stout, based off WT's normally delicious draft stout, except the Bourbon barrel aging elevates it into immediate respectability. I scored a bottle at their 1 year anniversary celebration. This baby is aptly described by its own label: "Big and burly, but still smooth and refined. The silky mouthfeel is created by generous portions of oats and all of the chocolatey, coffee and cream flavors are in perfect harmony." It's a harmony often sought, but rarely achieved. Just 1/4 of the25 oz. bottle was enough to make me laugh at at a single digit temperature day. Do yourself a favor and let it warm a bit. This is an impressive brewery, and It's a certainty that The PubScout will be looking for their beers from now on. Imperial Stouts rarely get better than this. If they have any bottles remaining, run --don't walk--to Wet Ticket Brewing in Rahway, NJ. And tell them The PubScout sent you. Then run like hell.

I went to the Wet Ticket 1 year anniversary celebration. Lively atmosphere with lots of good beer on tap and raffling off Wet Ticket gear. I tried just about everything in flights and then bought a half case of this beer that was brewed for the event.
Got 6 before tasting as I had the base Oatmeal Stout that I thought was already very good. Then this beer is aged in Bourbon Barrels. Opened one tonight and it is excellent. Glad I bet right and bought some to put in my beer collection.
I drank the first one a little too cold but the next I open will sit at room temp a little longer before opening. Vanilla, Chocolate and Coffee flavors all making each sip a pleasure. Great nightcap beer in the best of your beer glass collection.
