Citra Leaf Pilsner is a new spin on our classic Pilsner recipe. We took our tried and true Pilsner recipe and repalaced some of the classic European noble hops with a good amount of Yakima Cheif’s new American Noble Citra hops. The American noble hops are only the leafy part of the plant not the lupulin glands. The combination of classic old world noble hops and new world American hop leaf melds together to create notes of grapfruit, guava and a spicy bitterness.

A: The beer is crystal clear yellow in color and has a moderate to high amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high fluffy bright white head that has excellent retention properties and consistently left a quarter finger high head covering the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of lime citrus are present in the nose along with notes of floral and grassy hops.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that there are also notes of gooseberries towards the finish. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and very clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This pilsner had very nice and complex aromas and flavors from the hops.

My first offering from Chuckant.
Look: Pours a brilliantly bright, pale straw color with an airy, bone white head. A lot of visible carbonation and pillows of foam stick to the glass as the head settles. Great looking beer. An enticing looking Pilsner.
Smell: Primarily grassy and some herbal and earthy hops. A lot of orange citrus zest hops too. And a wonderful sweet, but crisp bready malt aroma.
Taste: The flavor follows suit with grassy and herbal hops. Mid palate you get flash of lemony and orangey hops. Then the malt kicks in and the beer dries out with a crackery finish complemented by some herbal and bitterness. A dynamic beer that’s delicious from start to finish.
Feel: Medium level of prickly carbonation. Light bodied and effervescent. Finished moderately dry with some nice bitterness.
Overall: This is my first beer from Chuckanut, so I’ve never had the original Pilsner. If available to me locally I would drink this on a regular basis as my Pilsner of choice. Excellence.

500ml bottle served in a SIP Fest 2020 snulip. If there's a date, I don't see it. Bought it yesterday at Elizabeth Station.
Pours a very light yellow color. Smallish head, does not look particularly carbonated. Retains a fairly thin cap. Smell has tiny suggestion of lager yeast, a little honeysuckle, and moderate fruit juice lying on top of the grass.
Taste has lager yeast is there, grass and pine are there, but inhabited by bitterness that I can't quite characterize. Might be pine. Not killer, but powerful. Comes across fairly crisp. Slight leaning toward fruity. Experience is crisp, but couldn't explain why.
Mouthfeel is pretty light. Overall, I like it...tastes and feels light and bright.

Bottle from Uptown Market.
A clear light yellow with a dense, white head with excellent retention and lacing, this looks great. The nose is phenomenal. Dry, crisp, cracker-like snap, delicate dust, lemon, a touch of honey, just a faint hint of pine, grapefruit and a little dank weed, this is an inspired riff on the regular Pils. The palate opens crisp and snappy, bright, lemony, a touch earthy, a touch minty with a blend of delicately floral honey and grapefruit zest. The midpalate is bright and vibrant, a blend of lemon and honeysuckle on a brilliantly crisp, snappy malt backbone. The malt expression illustrates the difference between those for whom the style is about being a crispiboi and the real deal. Dry, delicate bitterness lingering on the finish, beautiful flavors are abound in this beer.

Beautiful crystal clear pale lemon yellow with a big fluff of wet egg white head.
Nose has some good bready malts and a touch of spicy earthy hops.
Again bready clean malts across the tongue, with earthy spicy bitter hops to finish and a little bit of extra brightness from the citra, lending it a little more citrus and floral character. It has less impact than I'd have guessed, though. Clean drinking with a bitter hoppy finish and a light sweet twist as well.
Clean and medium bodied with good effervescence and a lingering bitterness to the finish. Feels right and I really dig it.

Served in 16oz Pilsner glass. Poured a bright, clean, clear light gold color with an inch of white head that had good retention and lacing.
The scent featured solid, but light, grains with bright but subtle hops.
The hops stood out a bit more on the tongue, but the other aspects were similar to the aroma.
The body was smooth and clean, with a semi-sweet finish.
Drinkability was nice, I'd drink it again.
Overall, a nice beer. Perhaps it was a faded by the time I tried it? Seems like the Citra hops coulda been brighter and bolder. Still, worth a shot if you see it.
