Look: Liquid mahogany springs forth from the can and quickly fills my glass, topped with a beautiful, cratered tan pillow of a head
Aroma: Raw cane sugar, aromas of baking bread, toasted bread, toffee, light earthiness, wafts of raw dough, and some dark fruit
Taste: Opens up with raw cane sugar and dark fruit that hold center stage for a brief moment before relenting to the bready malt that follows. Layers of toast, warm and baking bread, dough, and toffee pile on and begin developing and deepening, while light earthy notes cut in here and there, just enough to damped the sweetness. Closes with bread, earthiness, and toffee
Mouthfeel: Full, smooth, clean, well carbonated, and smooth on the finish with a touch of dryness
Overall: This is outstanding stuff. I’ve very much enjoyed these folks’ beers now that I have sporadic access to them locally and really wanted to try this one so jumped at the chance when I spotted it. It’s a really tasty and well-made example that hits all the right malty notes for me and is dangerously quaffable. Glad I grabbed the 4-pack and highly recommended if you see it

A near perfect example of a single Bock. There are very few breweries in the United States that can do lagers as well as Chuckanut and this beer is no exception.

12-ounce can purchased at Belmont Station in Portland, OR. Date stamp reads "05AUG25". Enjoyed in a nonic half-pint glass.
Note: Label displays an ABV of 6.3%.
Appearance is a perfectly clear dark reddish-brown with copper highlights. The nose is full of sweet, rich malt, toasted bread, caramel, a touch of floral hops, and a mild fruity character. The flavor follows: rich maltiness that suggests both Munich and Vienna, toasted multigrain bread, and luscious notes of caramel. It's quite sweet at first, but dries substantially in the middle, although the caramel note remains. Floral hops color the finish and get you ready for the next sip. No sign of the fruity notes in the nose. Medium-to-full body with supportive carbonation and a clean finish. Very well made and satisfying.

Clear and filtered dark reddish brown, with plenty of foam in the Hopleaf goblet. Aroma of straw, cereal, and roasted grain. Full bodied and quite malty. There is just a hint of hops and the slightest shadow of bitterness in the aftertaste.
Sweet and dark, but with the unmistakable caramel roast flavor. More grainy and candy-coated than my idea of a typical Bockbier. Very smooth and drinkable, like a Winter Warmer with less weirdness. From the 500 ml bottle purchased at their restaurant in Bellingham.

Poured into a Chuckanut pint glass. Pours a dark, reddish brown with a fine, half finger aged ivory head with great retention and good lacing. Aroma of biscuit malt, brown bread and a vague fruitiness. Flavor is biscuit malt with a hint of caramel, brown bread, figs, hints of hazelnuts; full malty finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess, nice mouth feel. A solid, full malty bock. A little sweeter than typical for the style, but that nicely balances the mild grainy bitterness in the malt. A bit off-style, but in a good way. Flavor is solid throughout the taste, leaving a pleasant lingering malty aftertaste. Chuckanut is revered around here for their fine German styles and this is a good example. Enjoyable. Not sure why this doesn't get more love here.

Clear dark brown with a little red. Roasted malt aroma. Roasted malt and a little toffee with light bittering and a slighly bready finish. Robust mouthfeel with light carbonation.
This is a good beer @ 7% ABV the alcohol is well mixed. It's a little too sweet but still a good beer to try out.

Served in an elongated tulip. Poured a lovely light mahogany color with an inch of medium tan head that had Decent retention and lacing.
The aroma was a little sweeter than most others of this style I've had, but still had a solid and smooth malt profile. The taste was also on the sweet side, but the malt more than balanced that out and the beer finished with a pleasant hop tang.
The medium-light body was typical for the style. Drinkability was good, as expected for this style. The beer goes down smooth and easy. I look forward to more. You should try it if you see it.
