Our Coconut Milk Stout is brewed with the traditional addition of lactose, or milk sugar. This adds a subtle sweetness and creaminess to counter the heavy roast flavors from darker malts. We hand toasted coconut and added it to the finished beer, creating an intense flavor and aroma of coconut and chocolate. Body is full with a sweet, coconut finish.

From a can. Pours a dark brown with a short lived white head. The nose is sweet cream and roasted coconut. Tastes of lightly toasted coconut and roasted barley, slightly sweet. Medium bodied with a creamy texture. A solid sweet stout with coconut.

Grabbed a can of this, a bunch of other stouts, some pilsners and some lagers on a recent work trip to Fort Collins, Colo. I was basically in for a coconut milk stout but a guy I know really liked it so that cinched it for me. Untappd description read “Our Coconut Milk Stout is brewed with the traditional addition of lactose, or milk sugar. Poured a pittch-black color with 1-to-2 fingers of khaki tan head which dissipated quickly. Could see some bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Very bad lacing. Below average retention. (Sight - 3.00)
Smelled toasted coconut, dark milk chocolate, semi-sweet morsels, cacao, dark fruit, vanilla and cane sugar. Smelled just as good from the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste was a notch down than the smell. Super thin, even for 4.6 pct. ABV. Got toasted coconut, dark milk chocolate, semi-sweet morsel, cacao, bitter roasted coffee beans, dark fruit, vanilla and cane sugar. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium-to-light body. Oily texture. Soft carbonation. Abrupt finish. (Feel - 3.75)
Very good overall but was hoping for more. (Overall - 3.75)
