Our now famous fruited sour base has made friends with JAVA! Introducing Javaberry Fury. We smashed TONS of real raspberry puree into a sour beer base, loaded it up with chocolate, and finished with a light touch of espresso. The medley is magic and we hope you love every drop

16oz can. No dating information found.
Murky, dirty purple colored body. Two fingers of purplish head disappeared in about twenty seconds. Leaves behind a puree film.
Aroma exudes raspberry and chocolate, with a background of dark roast coffee.
Taste has a first wave of fresh picked raspberry, and then the chocolate joins in. Some tartness, also chalky. Searching for the espresso but it is a suggestion. More woody and chocolate in the aftertaste.
Medium mouth feel, with a chalky mouth coating. Gets dry in the finish. Some initial carbonation.
Fruited kettle sour with a high dose of raspberry and blended with chocolate. Great fresh raspberry flavor but drying mouth feel. Not overly sweet.

The average of the 12 ratings on UnTappd liked this more than me. But then, I'm shy to this style... despite flattering myself as adventurous.
This rendition of Javaberry is a classic chocolate cake and, with the coffee, allows my imagination to think that I'm drinking mydessert... albeit tart. (I'm also a sucker for most chocolate cakes.) This kettle sour is well-integrated, unlike many that are not.
My first from Hoosier, I went on their website and they could have been more forthcoming for a six year old micro. But for bringing more culture to metropolitan Indy, I give them decent Overall Hugs.
