Brewed Feb 2021.
Bottled May 2021.
Gentle to moderate pour yields a nearly two inch white head over a slightly hazy, straw colored body with sticky lacing.
Nose of slight pine, herbs, forest floor(?) with wonderful aromas of citrus wafting in and out.
Taste of citrus at first (grapefruit mostly with a bit of orange), oak, a tad spice, and then moving towards the pine; finally finishing dry with pine, oak, and citrus pith in the best way.
Feel is similar to that of champagne, but with a wild ale's body, if that makes any sense.
Overall, yet another superb offering from the Wizard of Albany, VT!
Cheers to Vasili!!

another amazing beer from these guys, gorgeous packing and bottle conditioning too, they do everything with great attention to detail and it makes them one of the most exciting breweries in the game for me, even if the hype train has been slow to get rolling, the deserve so much more attention than they get. locally grown chinook hops in a wood aged mixed culture pale, showcasing a very unique side of this hop, either from where its grown or how its employed with the fermenting agents, probably some of both, but its different than the way it is in clean northwest pales, thats for sure. i get some nice spiciness to it, neat with the dry cereal malt base this is built upon, lower alpha, and unique nuance from lemongrass to lemon candy, more herbal than it often is, way less aggressive in its nature, and with only a little bit if the dense woodsy pine i know it for, even with the light oak this has through it. the nose and the taste are the same, not too tart, hop driven but balanced, more bretty than acidic, very mature and well aged, incredibly lively on the feel too, effervescent with a ton of tiny little bubbles bursting here and there through the whole drink, some hop oils lingering late, and i just keep not really recognizing this as chinook. super drinkable beer, immaculately refined, a fun take on a pale ale, they probably call it simple, and maybe from an ingredient standpoint it is, especially compared with many of their others, but this is on another level, just brilliant! drank it way too fast, its the one of most refreshing beers thats also wildly complex i can recall...

On draft at Three Penny Taproom 7.28.21. Golden with healthy white head with large bubbles. Mixed Ferm pale ale but crushable and drinks more like a hoppy farmstead. Much better than Fig 1, Vas is kicking into stride

This is a chinook hopped pale ale with mixed cultures and dry hop. Taste is very pure and crisp and is truly a pleasure to drink. Color is similar to grapefruit with good carbonation.
