Really like what Vasili is doing with these grape ale experiments. I've tried many beer-wine hybrids and these are near the top in terms of blending the nuance positive characteristics of red wine and mixed fermentation ale. Closest comparison would be a red pétillant naturel

500ml bottle.

Pours a gorgeous purple with a short-lived head of pink. Zero retention or lacing. Ripe berries in the nose. Smells more like raspberries than grape. Medium bodied with a slickish mouthfeel. Juicy but dry red berries on the palate with minimal funk or acid. Finishes barely tart.

500 ml. bottle.
Bottled November 2023.
Bottle conditioned for about 8 months.

Moderate to vigorous pour yields a 1/2 inch light pink head over a deep reddish-purple body with scant lacing.

Nose of Frontenac Noir grapes and a slight bit of earthy funk.

Taste is mostly grape and that is far from a bad thing as this is delicious!

Mouthfeel is rather thin for a beer, but slightly effervescent like a sparkling wine.

Overall, if you have a chance to try this, do not hesitate.

Cheers!
