Dark brown pour with reddish hued highlights. One finger head cushion. Nice smooth mouthfeel goes down easy. Good rendition of a Baltic style porter, as most flavors are underplayed, chocolate being the most prominent. Coconut presence was more in the nose than on the palate. Fairly benign beer--everything pleasant but falling short of robust flavor.

This was the last of a bunch of Icarus beers that I was given recently by my cousin, as i never had this before. Nice to see that they brew more than IPA's and this was a nice take on the style that was easily accessible and fun to drink without having a lot of left to it.
Of course, this poured dark and looked like coffee as a bit of light seeped in around the edges that were a beautiful shade of garnet. Very little mocha head topped this off as that quickly faded as the same was true for the lacing. as there were only a few spots of it left along the entirety of my pint glass. Loads of rich chocolate, dark cherry juice, and toasted coconut in the nose as the taste was quite heavy, luscious, and full-bodied as there was a nice hint of barley to round out the mouthfeel of this beer. Thick and creamy, the lactose wasn't in the taste as much as was in the aftertaste as this was softly sweet and solidly sticky with the milk and cream nicely complementing the chocolate and fruit, down to the sweetness left on my palate. A bit toasted and with the consistency of coffee, the carbonation was light as the milk chocolate ensured that this wouldn't be left in my glass for long.
The booze was spot-on as it was lightly felt and warmed me up just a bit before I finished this off. Dated 1/26 with "I FART IN YOUR GENERAL DIRECTION" written under it (is that a Monty Python reference?), this almost felt like an Imperial Breakfast or Coffee Stout, if one were to exist. Plenty to like here as this was easy to enjoy and deceptively weak in heft, a I'd easily reach for this in the morning or for dessert with some dark fruited-pastries. Good take on this style by Icarus!

One of my fave go to porters, hits the shelves every couple months or so. Between the lactose, chocolate and coconut, you would think it is too sweet, but it has a nice balance to it

Pours a deep garnet/black color with a mocha colored head. Head does not stick around long. Smell is muted with faint coconut,cocoa- Taste some coconut, some lactose. To be blunt not much of taste at all.Feels medium bodied, finishes juicy.Overall this and Breckenridge vanilla porter are tied in my opinion to be the worst examples of the style.

can to coffee cup; watching FIFA WWC Final. Go USA.
LOOK: Dark black, respectable beige head. good retention.
AROMA: coconut, barley,
TASTE: cocnut, barley, mint, earthy and flavorful.
FEEL: a little thin, but above average carbonation for a porter. Drinks very smooth.
Reminds me a lot of Oscar Blues Death by Coconut. Maybe not quite as tasty, but close.

Pours dark, minimal head. Nice coconut aroma, minimal chocolate. Loads of coconut flavor mix with milk chocolate, great lingering coconut finish. Carbonation adds to a creamy texture, be it a bit on the thin side. Overall my favorite coconut porter, better than Death by Coconut and Alastair’s Snow IMO, I will always have this in my fridge.
