8.1% ABV North East Style Lactose IIPA brewed with Lemongrass and Citra in the Whirlpool and then Fermented with a specialty House Yeast blend including Brux Trois. To round this brew out we heavily dry hopped with Lupulin Citra, Idaho 7, and Bru-1, and then finished it on Toasted Coconut and even more Lemongrass.

Traded for this a few weeks back, as I'll drink anything from Icarus when given a chance. While this wasn't a letdown, I had a bit higher expectations for this based on it's description as this was fine to kick back with although there was a bit too much going on here for anything in particular to fully stand out.
The pour was honey-hued but certainly nowhere near as thick as that sweetener as the head was quite tall and bubbly. The webbed nature of it settled quickly as there wasn't *any* lacing to be seen as I started to work my way through this. Some coconut, lemongrass spice, yeast, and Bru-1 in the nose as the taste was just as exotic, varied, and somewhat heavy-handed. Plenty of slickness from the Citra and a toasty feel from the Coconut stood out more than any other flavor as there was some stickiness that assisted in weighing this down.
Thankfully, the booze wasn't very noticeable and the hint of coconut and tropical fruit sweetness made this somewhat enjoyable, in spite of it's range of flavors and ingredients. Dated 4/20 with "WHY IS NEON SAD?" written above it, this wasn't the best from Icarus but it was another brew from them that felt much softer than it was in actuality. It was fresh, varied, and fun to try once although there was quite a bit of sediment at the bottom of the can that had to be swirled out. As much as I hate to say it, this fantasy could have been a bit better in reality.

Canned on 6/20/21 Enjoyed 5/2/21
Pours hazy yellow with a think white head that fades. Aroma is melon and coconut. Taste is hop bitter with some citrus, lemon in particular, and melon notes. It's decent, but it seems like there's too much going on. Feel is good rich and coating. Overall it's an interesting take. Worth a try.

can to snifter.
LOOK: hazy yellow, medium white head, good retention.
AROMA: Citrus and perfume. wheat.
TASTE: more perfume coming through, but not as much as the aroma. Coconut is solid. Some nice tropical fruit notes come through with the citrus. finish has some leafy, bitterness.
FEEL: fairly smooth. medium body.
This is my second can of this, and I expected to rate this higher as the first seemed better. Probably just circumstances as its only been a few days in between. I think the lemongrass is coming through more "perfumey" this time for me.
Still enjoyable.

Tons of coconut; good but have to be in the mood for that in a beer.
