Taster at Icarus. Hazy yellow pour, spotty head, lacing. Coconut and pineapple in the aroma. Taste is fruity, coconut, pineapple, juicy. Very Smooth, tasty

a: hazy yellow and light orange color. fizzy, 1 finger head that fades too quick
s: big coconut, sweet lactose, strawberry, mango, kiwi, and crackers. a touch of peach, and blueberry cobbler. some vanilla in here as well
t: tons and tons of coconut in this upfront. kiwi, peach, guava, and passionfruit behind that. some doughy malts, and a touch of earthy sweetness
m: lighter side of medium, with moderate carbonation
o: tastes very much like a pina colada, which for me doesn't do much. i think the coconut overrides the hops in this, and i'm just not digging it that much

As advertised, tastes like a painkiller without the rum. An interesting beer worth a try.

Can to Tulip Glass.
LOOK: Pulpy and hazy light yellow color. Small white head. Good retention.
AROMA: mostly raw coconut with hints of citrus and tropical fruit. The coconut rules here which is up my alley.
TASTE: Not a ton of hop presence, but I am OK with that. Coconut is not overpowering, but it is the strongest flavor and very smooth. Maybe a hint of palm oil. Light hop bitterness in the finish giving it a touch of grapefruit and/or lime.
FEEL: light bodied (normally a downer for me, but perfect for summer), medium carbonation. super smooth.
Icarus is quickly becoming my 2nd favorite NJ brewery (behind Kane of course). They have the IPA/APA game down pat and I've a had a few excellent stouts from them as well.
This is fantastic. Like a better version of Dogfish Head's Lupu Luau which I love in its own right. 1st of a 3-pack (somebody switched one out, likely for a Bang Kitty) from Joe Canals. Maybe my favorite summer beer yet.

I've had 6 of these from 2 different batches this year and quite a few last year. It's time to lower the rating a little as the title has become a little inconsistent. Still Excellent, but with an overall rating above 4.5, it needs to continue to produce at a high level.
