Mucky Muck is hazy, more yellow than gold. It has the distinct look of an oat-based IPA, and wheat is also used to brew this NEIPA. Tropical fruit nose, creamy pulpy mouthfeel. It's a sweet IPA, with pineapple and berry flavors dominating. Not overly complex, but a solid choice for New England IPA fans.

Modest head but the surface coats lasts well, thin lacing at best. The apricot yellow-orange hued liquid is fully opaque with a strong glow, at the glass able to see super-tiny bubbles try to bead. Lactose notes evident in the nose, pineapple and papaya most present, angular, cocoa powder, decent amount of leafy herbal matter and resin, comes across as monochrome. In the mouth it’s super-heavy and full-bodied, feels like you’d have to churn it with a stick to get any movement. Guava paste, pineapple, dried apricots and papaya, the fruit chunky and sweet. The milk sugar extends the sweetness even though, to its credit, the dankness steps it up at the finish. The tangerine to pink grapefruit presents a confectionery feel, deepened by soft carbonation. Acknowledge the depth of flavor but it’s too tiresome to drink. (Canned 3/10/20)
