A good chaser after a couple of IPAs. Pours a slightly hazy golden straw with a finger and a half head dissipates fairly quickly without much lacing. Interesting nose and taste, funky-ish with oak overtones. Very enjoyable.

Beyond funk! The ghosts of fruit are in full flock, and some kind of herbal pig blanket is gassing off. The label notes that eight different strains of "bugs" are working in this concoction, and it is totally about the flavors of yeast and bacteria. The first sip is a blast of off-flavors from every angle. If you'd brewed it yourself you would despair of ever sterilizing your equipment again.

Taste is utterly wild with spoiled fruit galore and a plastic finish. Quite bitter. And astringent. Oddly, this is so whacked that no single nasty taste dominates, but I am unable to find one flavor that pleases. For the wild yeast connoisseur, this may be a pleasure like collecting a new strain of blueberry mold. From the 16 oz can, no date.

Appearance - Pours with a slight haze and golden orange in color with an off-white, near half finger width head. Sub-par retention brings about a mostly barren surface with a razor thin ring of suds around the edge of the glass. No lacing, save a spot or two.

Smell - Really nice mix of pungent funk and oaky quality.

Taste - Not as strong as the aroma leads you to believe. Both the funk and oaky qualities taste muted by comparison,

Mouthfeel - Light in body with light, spritzy carbonation. Slick, easy drinker. Runs a bit flat in the finish.

Overall - Smells amazing, the taste is so-so. Hard to read what the canned date because the month is smushed to the point of illegibility, but it's ?/21/21, so it's not relic as far as saisons go.

dry hopped brett beer, tasty stuff, funky and dry, maltier than just pale pils and wheat types, and expressive in the glass with a ton of carbonation, it was cool to have this on tap at their funky little portland spot. surprisingly clear for a wood aged brew, light amber colored with a full inch of khaki head, super airy, this seems well conditioned. the nose is neat, old worldy to me, estery like there is some cultured saison in the mix too, not just brett, and probably a mix of brett strains at work, great complexity to the ferment, really dig it. its not too hoppy, and the hops seem clean, pine and meyer lemon, pretty good grain support too. the flavor is all of this, less woody than expected but really funky without really being tart at all, and more hops now that i could smell, even some bitterness to it which works with the bigger grain base. some light cooked sugar sweetness in the middle but all dried out to finish, soft carbonation is just lively enough for this to feel right, but perhaps less effervescent than would flatter this the most. overall a rather complex and well executed brew, all the elements contribute a lot, and it seems both modern and classic simultaneously. i have become a huge fan of these guys and it was cool to check out their space finally!
