not sure if this is the same as their one they just call lager or if its something different with the classic in the name now, but this is how my can was branded so reviewing it here. really clean and professional stuff, basic in the best possible way, not trying to be some kind of new fangled pils or anything, just a beer flavored beer thats fresh and bright and infinitely drinkable, i was quite impressed with this and bummed to only have a single can not a four pack or more, a total drinker with zero flaws, expert. blonde and pale and light looking with three quarters of an inch of foaming white head with decent retention and lots of rising bubbles feeding it. the nose is tight and tidy with just a fresh biscuity thing coming from the grain and a familiar and fresh lager yeast in play, lighter on the hops but faintly floral, this seems like ideal spring beer, especially as the weather starts to turn, there is something sort of nascent and optimistic about it, which is super appealing, fresh as can be. the flavor follows the nose, good minerality and water chemistry really driving it, patient lagering, super crisp, snappy, and refreshing, with high purity and gone on the swallow, but not feeling overly light or like anything is missing. trace hop bitterness as it warms, but i drink this one down pretty quick, its so satisfying. the grain is flavorful for how light it is, and i love the yeast, perhaps a little german suggestion. overall one of the better straight ahead lagers ive had in recent memory, and something i would definitely buy on the regular if it were available where i live. delicious and fresh and infinitely drinkable, yum! could easily be my summer fridge beer...
