Canned on 5/4/22; consumed on 5/28/22
Pours a turbid, milky dark orange body topped with two and a half fingers of fluffy, white foam; solid head retention leaves a half-finger of frothy cap along with a sizeable collar and array of sudsy, webby/spotty lacing spread along the walls of the glass.
Aromas of fresh tangerine and mandarin burst forth, revealing subtleties of sweet mango peel and a quiet, bready malt backing; lime zest develops in prominence over time, as green banana and underripe lychee offer earthier accents to the bouquet's closing impressions.
Taste resounds with lime sherbet and accents of mango peel upfront, with ruby red grapefruit bringing a citric twang to orange smoothie over the mid-palate, while prickly papaya finds a steady overlay of grassy resins on the back end.
Mouthfeel brings a medium body with a lower-end carbonation; slick textures veer increasingly taut into the mid-palate, where a juicy, resinous glide meets creamy sensations contrasting mineralic stiffness on the back end and into the finish.
An eclectic blend of hop character, trending boggy yet always bright, it is hindered only by the stiffness of a yeast profile limiting the full display of an extensive dry-hopping; full-flavored yet suggesting an even deeper, unrealized complexity.
