Canned on 6/7/22; consumed on 6/24/22
Pours a turbid, milky pale gold body topped with multiple fingers of dense, soapy, white foam; good head retention leaves a thin layer of cap, large, frothy collar, and an even spatter of spotty/webby lacing dotting the walls of the glass.
Aroma brings a layer of boggy resins washing over wet moss and lemon zest, with musty passionfruit and dank strawberry esters balancing to a mango peel sweat as composting papaya lingers.
Taste opens to boggy lemon zest against musty peach as earthy overtones of dried moss are reinvigorated by underlying passionfruit over the mid-palate; siloed malt enhances sweatier hop subtext as the citric twang of grapefruit along with underripe guava persists.
Mouthfeel shows a medium-full body and a fluffy, rounded carbonation imparting resinous density as a wispy grit is interwoven to the background; a distant hop twang peeks past the mid-palate, easing to a silky flow and an advancing brightness on the palate through the finish.
Embracing an immense, boggy overlay, the sweatiest, dankest notes meld to a flaky malt underbelly alongside a resinous glide to produce a DIPA both earthy and bright; an immensely saturated endeavor, heavily attenuated to a near-peaking hop density.
