Straw yellow liquid with a big fluffy white head that slowly recedes, leaving some lace around the glass. Low aroma of biscuity malt. Full and satisfying mouthfeel leads to flavors of doughey malt and corn, slightly sweet. No cloying, but not very complex.

Draught @ Brewpub: This one pours a clear golden color. There was very little white head on it and left no lacing. It has a very light aroma. Some malts, maybe a little corn and floral notes. The taste is OK, but not real exciting. Some malts, corn, Not much else of note. Pretty neutral on the sweet/bitter scale.

Served on-tap on 11/12/10 at Willimantic Brewing Co.
A: Clear, clean, pale yellow color with virtually no head and lively carbonation.
S: Slight, buttery cracker smell with zesty grains, cooked corn and some light, herbal hops.
T: Very light, toasted malt and grains up front. Spicy, drying hops come in around mid palate and wash the brew down with a cooked veggie flavor. Basic, pale, grainy ale.
M: Clean, crisp and bubbly palate with a slightly fizzy, medium-bodied finish.
D: The uninitiated would even be better served by the Certified Gold in this case, but some fans of German lagers might find comfort in the use of Hallertau. I'd save it for hot weather or just skip it all together again myself.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a super clear light orange with a small white head. Aroma of sweet malt and corn. Flavor of corn/bready malt with a sweet finish and some light hoppy bitterness in there too. Very drinkable and enjoyable (although the unfiltered version is just a touch better!). Solid cream ale.

L: Pours a golden yellow color with a thin and small white colored head that laces the glass a little on the way down.
S: Smells of sweet toasted malts, hints of sweet hops, and a smooth creamy sweetness at the end.
T: Very nice light and sweet toasted biscuity malt base underneath a sweet creamy malty taste that is really nice.
M: Very smooth, fresh, refreshing, perfect amount of carbonation.
D: Very drinkable, got a whole growler of it from the brewery and it was done in an evening.

On tap at the brewpub on 10/30/08.
Pours a crystal clear medium gold with just the thinnest wispy head of brite-white foam. It does flare up well when swirled though with a retention that is much more impressive than the orignal head looked. The aroma is pretty light but I am picking up some light notes of corn syrup sticky sweetness and floral tones with just a smidge of citrus.
The taste has a bit of a cornflake feel going on with it, with lots of corn and bready character. There is also some moderate floral bitterness in the back and the finish consists of some light sticky tanginess. The mouthfeel is light-medium bodied with a fairly sharp feel on the palette.
Solid Cream Ale here with a fairly robust taste for the style and a lighter body made for good drinkibility. I could have knocked back another of one these!

On-cask 10/26/07 at the brewpub, served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a light gold color, with a short white head that fades quickly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma is of light malts, some fruit and a little bit of hops and spice.
T: The taste is sweet and tart with flavors of apples, apricots and some spice. The malt character is light and the hops presence is very mild, therefore there really isn't a heck of a lot to this beer. The after-taste is slightly sweet.
M: Crisp with a little smoothness, light body, light carbonation, slightly sticky finish, this might not be the best choice to offer on-cask in my opinion.
D: A little tasty, goes down ok, not filling at all, decent kick for the style, this is definitely not a beer that I would pick again.

Screw-cap growler filled at the brewpub.
Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed a 1/2" white head over the clear golden amber brew. Head holds on nicely, with plenty of sticky lace. Aroma is minimal, but what is noted is nicely balanced. Taste is equally nicely balanced, sweetness upfront cut cleanly by crisp hops, a light almost tart fruitiness pops up for a moment, and closes with a lingering and pleasing aftertaste. Mouthfeel is oh-so smooth, and drinkability is superb. This stuff was made for sessions. Check it out.
