This is the last of three beers from Devil Craft that Snaotheus generously sent to me in his LIF box. Their NEIPA and DIPA were both quite odd, so I’m both intrigued by and fearful of how they’ll handle this much more traditional style. Only one way to find out, right?
Pours a mostly clear deep gold with a finger of soapy white head that quickly fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing
The nose is pretty gentle, but I can’t say I have any complaints. I’m picking up on aromas of biscuity malt, lemon zest, grassy hops, white pepper, raw grain, and light honey
Things get a little more bitter in taste but remains balanced. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting crackery malt, honey, peppery hops, orange zest, grass, lemon zest, and toasted grain. The swallow brings notes of peppery hops, grass, raw grain, crackery malt, lemon zest, light honey, and a very gentle strawberry note on the aftertaste
A light medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a crisp beer. Finishes mostly dry with a firm bitterness
This is definitely the best of the three I tried from Devil Craft. Go figure the only other review for this one was also from someone that Snaotheus gave a bottle to

Brewed in Japan, purchased there as well, traveled to Seattle, and then to Europe, hand delivered to me by @snaotheus outside the Sacher Hotel in Vienna after a night of brews at Ammutson …then carted to Munich, London and finally to Boston …poured into a pretentious beer glass after being opened by an Ottakringer bottle opener
Small batch brewed, hand, bottled into a 330 mL brown bottle, 5% Pilsner by the devil craft brewing Company of Tokyo.
Clear golden liquid , occasional streams of micro carbonation, one finger frothy, white foam crown , settles to a thick layer with occasional lacings
Aroma is grassy grains, malts with a spicy hop finish
Taste is grassy, grains, peppery hop spiciness on the finish
Clean, crisp, smooth , quenching dry finish
Good beer
