Valemount 18/7 2018. 65 cl bottle from BC Liquor, Valemount. Very icy drawing on the label with a guy (or lady) with grappling hooks.
Pours slightly hazy golden yellow with a very big white head. Settles as a 2 cm thick creamy crown of foam. Massive lacing.
Aroma is sweetish and intense. Caramel, stuffy refrigerator, brown sugar, humid basement.
Soft carbonation. Medium thick, soft, creamy texture.
Flavor has strong sweetness but partly balanced by medium bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a bitter undercurrent.
A bit too sweet for me - but ok balance and a little bit of bitterness to balance the sweetness a bit. Good take on the Belgian vibe.

Appearance - Pours a copper with three fingers of bubbly white head.
Smell - belgian yeast, fruity esters (banana, clove, coriander), spicy floral, and herbal hops, and bready malts.
Taste - bold belgian yeast and fruity esters (banana, clove, coriander) upfront. The spicy floral and herbal hops come through next. The bready malts round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky with the belgian yeast and spicy hops lingering.
Overall - A bold and flavouful BPA that boasts a pleasant belgian yeast and hop profile. This was a nice find as I wasn't sure as it came in a 4 pack here in Cowtown. You won't be disappointed if you come across this one.
