Thanks to Buck89 for this dark gem. Received in NBS BIF #7.
Pours a deep, dark brown. Tan head rises and inch or so, then settles to a thin, cohesive layer of tiny bubbles.
Smell is a smooth ride of dark coffee roast (only slightly bitter), a tad of chocolate.
Taste is coffee forward. It's a rich, dark coffee, with the roast coming through as a bit more bitter than the nose. The chocolate notes I picked up in the nose are faint, and blend in with a generally mild malt base. I'm wondering how this would be over ice cream.
Mouthfeel is medium and carbonation is on the low end.
Overall, this is a fine coffee stout. One must enjoy coffee to appreciate this beer.

12 oz bottle poured into a snifter. Dark brown with a medium sized tan head that quickly settled. Cola up front on the nose followed with some coffee and faint roasty notes. The taste was different (and better IMO) with smooth coffee up front mixed with chocolate and roasty malt. The cola flavor was still there, though. Medium bodied. I might be sensitive to the cola notes but it stayed with me.

I'm trying this at the brewery. It poured an opaque dark with razor thin tan head that isn't leaving any lace. The scent had coffee kungpao. The taste was most certainly coffee grinds....but was easy to drink. The mouthfeel is medium in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it's a decent beer.
