A dark colored beer, with a small head and a thin lace.
Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate.
Taste of malts, dates, chocolate and some fruit.
Medium body, medium carbonation and a dry finish.
A decent beer.

The color is coal black with an average-sized brown head. The aroma isn't very strong, roasted coffee and chocolate are noted. The taste is excellent. A roasted coffee taste is joined by chocolate, nuttiness, and what I believe is a chicory taste. There is a nice full-flavored complexity here. This was the best of the three beers I had at Coast Brewing, highly recommended.

The steel head pours a thick black with a nice rocky head. Some coffee and burnt malts detected on the nose. Up front, very rich and creamy, some coffee and chocolate notes. Mild hop balancing, some toffee noted towards the end. Flavorful, a good stout this is!
