Opaque black body topped with a thin yet lasting khaki hued cap of foam. Excellent smell comprised of roasted grains, coffee, and chocolate. The taste exudes rich chocolate and fudge; sweet; dark roasted coffee; mild yet prominent bitterness. Heavy mouthfeel, rich and oily yet finishing with a semi-dry quality; creamy.
This is a beautiful, rich and decadent stout enhanced with a fine, balanced dose of Rwandan coffee notes.

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a quarter finger high dark tan head that left a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of hazelnut are present in the nose along with underlying notes of coffee.
T: The taste follows the smell, but has stronger flavors of coffee with underlying hints of chocolate and lactose. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels a bit more than medium-bodied and somewhat smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This stout packs in lots of flavors of coffee and the hazelnut accents add a nice touch. It makes for a nice breakfast beer for a weekend brunch and does a very good job at hiding any traces of alcohol from the taste.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a half finger dark khaki head with great retention and nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, hazelnut, cocoa, lactose and coffee. Flavor follows with slightly sweet dark toasted malt, lactose, hazelnuts, light vanilla, milk chocolate and quality coffee. Chocolatey and nutty finish with some coffee bean bitterness. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess. I was really anticipating trying something from Weathered Souls; I was super impressed with the Black is Beautiful collabs I was able to find and figured the original base recipe must have been great. This makes me think that must have been true. This is a really nice imperial milk stout, rich, silky mouth feel and nice balance of the hazelnut and coffee with the chocolatey, milky malt base. Very nicely done and enjoyable. I hope these guys get a bigger market footprint; I'd like to see more from them.

Definitely lives up to the “sweet” part of sweet stout. Rather typical pour, dark tan lacing. Smell of milk sugars, vanilla, hazelnut, and coffee. Hazelnut takes the forefront with sweet notes of that (and chocolate) with a mildly bitter coffee background. Lighter than I expected when cold, thickens as it warms, deceptive alcohol presence. Not bad, not great.
