12 ounce can into a tulip snifter. Had 3/26/25.
Pours near black and opaque, with no head and some darker oily smear on the glass. Aromas of bourbon, roasted malt, oak, fig, raisin, some prunes and chocolate, some char. Similar, but a little more distinct flavors: bourbon, roasted malt, raisin, chocolate, plum, oak. Smooth, quite thick, a very good full body, appropriately carbonated on the low side.
This was quite good, too bad there won’t be a chance to have any more from these guys. Vibrant aromas and flavors, prominent barrels. Definitely near the top as the thickest beer I’ve had, and pretty heavily roasted as well. Overall, there’s a great balance between the barrels and the base.
