a unique saison with orange and juniper in it, a little hazy in the glass, but frothy and alive looking. an interesting mix of smells here, the orange is fresh and zesty but also bitter, more peel than flesh i would think, and the juniper is not as raw as anticipated, a more refined, almost essence of juniper, highly compatible with the orange and the white winey fresh sort of farmhouse yeast, subtle and clean but present throughout. the flavor here is nice too, lots of bitter from both botanicals, quite a lot of wheaty flavor and body, as well as the straw and grass notes of the yeast along with a soft pear or apple ester from it. this would be cool in a white wine barrel, really cool with a develope brett profile, or even interesting with other fruits like cranberries or peaches. complex as it is, it almost seems like a starting point for something else, im not sure why. good carbonation, relatively dry to finish, orange peel residuals. curious and different, the better of the two beers i had from these guys on my trip!
