There are no bigger fans of Labatt products than us. Blue Light has forever been our go-to light slugger. The citrus summer ‘batt pack was a fine investment and in it came this. When you are looking for a nice, easy-drinking beverage and don’t want a freaking white claw, this is something you should have in your fridge. While it can’t really compete with the IPA’s, for a light fruity beverage this is solid. We have had it out of a can and bottle, a nod to the glass here. It does make it better with a smoother pour.

12 FL OZ. can
Served in a nonic pint glass
This beer pours pale yellow and slightly hazy. It is topped with a couple inches of creamy head that hangs around throughout the beer.
The smell is fresh grapefruit.
Grapefruit is dominant but not overwhelming. The base beer peeks through with some cracker-y malt.
Medium bodied with an effervescent mouthfeel
It is refreshing and chuggable. Two excellent qualities on a hot spring day.

Poured in a pint glass. There is more grapefruit smell than taste. It just comes off as a tart light beer with barely any taste. Pretty pointless.

Pours very pale yellow, with a 1/4 inch head which quickly dissipates. No lacing. Cloudy. Moderate carbonation.
Aroma of grapefruit, slightly floral.
Decent taste of grapefruit, tangy. Not a lot of malt taste.
Feels thin and watery. Not much aftertaste.
Considering this is a light beer, it's a fairly decent one with more flavor than most lights.

As a light summer radler, it's a reasonably good beer.

Can poured into a pint glass. Lives up to its name. Heavy on the grapefruit in the scent and very tart in the taste. Tartness makes it slightly difficult to drink, but it was 80 degrees out and it was drinkable enough.

So I got to try this at Joey's on Main Street in Rochester New York. The smell is quite grapefruit. Cloudy like as if it's unfiltered zero carbonation and almost no Laceing. Mouthfeel is quite thin but expected from a light beer. Overall it was quite intriguing I only wish the smell of the grapefruit would have transferred over better to the pallet. But it is the freshest light beer I've ever tasted.

Labatt Brewing Co. "Labatt Blue Light Grapefruit"
12 fl. oz. clear glass bottle, production coded but without freshness dating
Appearance: Clear golden until I disturbed the sediment, which then left it surprisingly hazy. A finger-thick bright white head rose up quickly but then almost as readily settles into nothing more than a collar.
Aroma: Bright grapefruit. It's seemingly authentic. A little malt backs it.
Flavor: More malt than the aroma suggests, with a dampened grapefruit character. Not unlike their Blue Light Lime, the acidity is kept in check, although I'm not sure how well that really works. A bit more tang might be nice, and then again it might be too much, but the aroma had me expecting a bit of zing. Regardless, it's balanced and drinkable with a bit of extra character that makes it more than a "light beer".
Mouthfeel: Light-medium in body with a standard carbonation level that gives a delicate bristle to the palate.
Overall: The aroma is great but the flavor doesn't quite follow through, although that can't be considered a flaw at all. It's otherwise clean, well balanced, and drinkable. Every beer has it's own time and place!

Labatt Blue Light Grapefruit brewed by Labatt Brewing Company Ltd., with an ABV of 4.00% This brew prows out a nice golden amber color with a small white head. The head to this brew goes away fast. The smell of Labatt Blue Light Grapefruit is rich with grapefruit sweetness. There is also some , grains , and malts, in the smell of this brew. This brew has the look of some shandy brews on the market, not saying that is a bad thing. Now for the taste, it is bold with grapefruit sweetness and citrus. Not much to write home about. however this brew is clean and refreshing. Kinda puts you in the mind set of of soda. This brew has a nice balance to it. The mouthfeel of Labatt Blue Light Grapefruit , rich, bold, clean and refreshing. This is one of the better Labatt Blue Light summer brews. on the market. The grapefruit dose it for me in this brew. Overall I'm giving Labatt Blue Light Grapefruit a 3.25 out of 5. I would buy this brew again on a hot summer day. Labatt Brewing Company Ltd., did a nice job with this one.
