Looks and smells like a standard average macro lager, but to put it in very very simple terms it tastes like crap.
It's like someone took a labatt blue, dumped a few teaspoons of sugar in it, threw in some guarana juice and called it a drink. Mouthfeel of this is bitter, sweet and disgusting all at the same time. first gulp of this made me gag which negates any possibility of this being drinkable.
What was labatt thinking?!? This is a question I don't believe I will ever get the answer for. Either way, even if you're curious, Trust me. Don't.

A hot, lazy summer afternoon, what a better time to do a beer taste test. Have been acumulating some of these new caffeine/guarana malt beverages. Side by side tasting of Molson Kick, Labatt Shok, and Budweiser BE. (I have already reviewed once, but wanted to see how it compared)
Shok comes in a thin silver 250 ml can. A malt beverage 6.9% with guarana flavour, approx. 60 mg of caffeine per serving.
Color is clear and yellowy (a slightly darker color than Kick), with a short white head. The foam only lastes for the first sip then disappears. Sweet smell of guarana berries, but not as pronouced as BE's aroma. The taste is medium sweet, with some bitterness at the end. It is sugary sweet and left you with a strange aftertaste. Kind of metallic, but not exactly sure how to describe it (even more metallic aftetaste than BE). The more you drink, the more pronounced the bitterness became making it difficult to finish. Mouthfeel starts out creamy, but leeaves a thick sweet coating - not appetizing at all. Didn't really feel any aftereaffects of the caffeine. Of the 3, this was judged to be the worst. Now I can say I have tried these new fad flavored beers.

Very sweet malt beverage(is this beer?) Pours from the can a straw clear yellow with small head. Plenty of bubbles foam up from the bottom of the glass. Tastes like cheap candy. Fruit, and corn. Again, sweet tasting. It's as if someone put alot of fructose into Labatt Blue. Reminds me of a bad malt cooler. I don't taste malt, I don't even taste adjuncts. Mouthfeel is fizzy, overcarbonated, and sticky. Drinkable if you like sugary crap. Or if you want the effects of caffiene and alcohol. Reminds me of Drew Carey's Buzz Beer. Though Buzz Beer might taste good.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
