Pleasantly pleased that this didn't taste like a coffee boilermaker. At 12.2% ABV, I didn't notice any alcohol overtones, although it does has a smooth, warm drain; and at 12.2% ABV, that's really good! The flavor to me, at first, was slightly bitter, sweet, coffee/toffee, but extremely well balanced. Half way through my first glass, the flavor combinations, aromas and texture married into a wonderful relationship. Do not CHUG this Barleywine. This is brewed to be savored. You're not going to want to be cheering on the Packers and slamming these. You'll never make it past the 1st quarter, you know, like the Packers. Recommend!

One of the worst Barleywines I’ve had. There is just too much going on for it to be enjoyable. I like untitled art, but what is going on with this beer. The coffee just didn’t work with the bw base.

An English barleywine with coffee and coconut--interesting concept. Pours a bit more coffee-brown than a typical barleywine, and beware some sediment at the bottom of the bottle. Coffee is abundant on the nose, even when cold, but not overpowering the malty sweetness and vanilla of the barrel-aged booze. The coconut is more delicate, rising up in aftershocks periodically as I sip. Impossible to rate to style, and a rare bird compared to less adventurous barleywine experiments, but I'm glad I got to try it as a generous trade extra.

Has a nice reddish color but with a fair number of floaters. I am overly sensitive to coffee and it was the primary smell for me. Initial taste was of coffee, then a bit of sweet, then a long coffee finish. Pretty smooth for a barleywine with this abv. Should have looked a little closer at the bottle before buying because it had a little too much coffee for me.
