A nice pour at "When Pigs Fly" in Kittery, Maine. Lush, delicious and quaffable. At 12% abv how can this be? I forced myself to sip and it wasn't easy. But I'm glad I did. This big beautiful stout has depth of character and a wonderful lingering sweet finish. To be savored again and again. Among the best.

Beautiful looking brew with a tall mocha-tan colored head that sticks around. Enormous nose of fudge, milk chocolate with a hint of vanilla, roastiness and suggestions of coffee bean, mocha. Taste follows the nose, with a wave of bitter semi sweet dark chcolate, then some vanilla and chocolate pudding goodness, followed by a strong and sharp finish of roasty bitterness that cuts straight through the palate - a little too abrasive for me. The 12% abv is apparent on this finish but not overly hot. Mouthfeel is super chewy, creamy, and coating. I'm impressed with the execution of this brew. Just wish it had less of a sharp bitterness on the finish!

Pours dark brown and moderately thick, with two fingers of head threatening to overflow the teku glass. Fudge on the nose and tongue, a good semblance of a chocolate pudding in a glass. In that respect, they've nailed the concept. Unfortunately, the finish is quite rough for me, with a dry bitterness and chalky flavor that really throws me.

look: Gonna go with Fudgy chocolate pudding. Nearly opaque. Huge head for an imp stout, medium tan and creamy.
smell: Rich chocolate pudding! Some light stout roastiness but pudding is the star.
taste: much like the nose though leaning more stout like. The sweetness cut with a little roasty bitterness in the finish.
Mission accomplished.
