Pint can w/ best by Oct 2024 - Poured into a football shaped KC Chiefs pint glass - hello? Super Bowl is 5 days away!!

The pour produced more than 2" of sudsy foam, which settled down within a minute or so. Practically no lacing.

It has a pine, fruity aroma and flavor that is not at all like a pilsner, but who cares I enjoy it. I have read several reviews that bash this because it isn't a true pilsner. I agree, but - there just aren't enough categories on this or any other beer site to cover all the variants really.

It tastes fantastic and is highly drinkable so I'll just go with that. It's not world class like many of the stouts from this brewery but I'd give this some grace, and won't run away from it next time I'm looking through the glass doors and see it at my local shop.

16 oz can enjoy by date 10/27/24 into a tall Pils glass.
L: SRM 2 Pours straw light grayish yellow with a domed 3/4" bright white head that has VG retention, lush steady carbo bubbles, head recedes with a center cap, dental lacing with rhythmic banding lines.
S: Lightly fruity, light caramel malts, lemon, a mix of citrus.
T: Light lemon, citrus zest, resin, a hint of pear, white grape skin, sweet pastry dough, yeast, has a slightly broad flavor overall and a medium-length fruity linger.
F: Lightly brisk then fairly smooth medium to medium-light bodied feel with a cushy medium-long finish.
O: Extremely tasty & fresh, exceptional looking and drinks quite smoothly. It has zest and pronounced fruit and is quaffable due to its lush mouthfeel. It is excellent in its style.
*** I am rating this beer based on its overall style components and overall drinkability. My cans are fresh and I use a PILSNER GLASS for Pilsners. There seems to be some confusion as to what style this beer is. Like many, this one fits between. It is American. This isn't an attempt IMHO at a Czech/Bohemian, German, or the like. It is an American Pilsner, which doesn't really have its own category here. American Pilsners are in their own class.

Standard caveat: Rating the same way I do on Untappd.

The first whiff produces an orange peel aroma, or at least something very citrusy. There's very little malt character present, or what's there is completely overwhelmed by the hops. No biscuity or bready notes at all. The hops are brighter that one would typically expect from a pilsner. Again, some sort of citrus. It really does come close to a pale ale in flavor. It's not bad enough for a drain pour, but this is quite disappointing coming from Untitled Art.

"Best by 7/6/24"; drank 6/23/23 (they think this Pilsner will be fresh for OVER a year??).

Cloudy orange appearance.

Orange soda & baking soda notes in the nose. Huh? On a pilsner?

Syrup-y medium thick mouthfeel.

Orange soda & baking soda flavors; a hint of trash water on the finish.

This is...an abomination. It tastes like a poorly made American Pale Ale, but to call this a Pilsner? What happened here? I have more questions than opinions; regardless, I'd avoid this.

thanks to my buddy for sharing this and some others from these guys, newish to the idaho market, its cool to have their stuff here, but i remain pretty up and down on them, some of them rule, some of them are like this. they call it an american pils, its heavily hopped but doesnt smell or taste fresh at all, despite the pint can saying its good until july of next year, what the heck?! no way this is fresh for that long, highly suspect, especially since its already oxidized. surprised its as orange as it is, more color than most pils types, decent clarity and a pretty white head well over an inch high and lasting, tiny bubble size to it, pretty beer, but doesnt look like the style. it smells like wet paper and also very bitter, but there is a definite modern hop note to this on top of more common grassy and spicy noble notes, i also get lemon curd and cantaloupe, pretty bitter too, fuller on the grain side, light toast, very little from the yeast. the flavor is hoppy all the way through, herbal, not at all fresh, and with a chardonnay note, light onion, and then the faded grain. cardboard, newspaper, excessive bitterness, long linger, slightly chemical, this is not clean lager to me, its neither light nor refreshing, and this warms up poorly. the whole thing feels kind of cheap, and the hops are degraded to me. awesome carbonation which helps lighten it some, but its also generically malty and not very cohesive overall. maybe my least favorite beer from these guys so far, and i have no idea what to make of the proposed best by date, seems insane...
