If you want to give your taste buds a flavor eruption, you need to jolt them with the right blend. When we combined juicy and succulent blueberries with small hints of lavender, we knew we did the right thing. With the first sip, you understand just how much you’ve been missing out on. The touch of lavender doesn’t just complement succulent northern blueberries; it takes the taste to previously undiscovered heights!

12 ounce can into tulip glass, best before 8/18/2018. Pours slightly hazy deep ruby red, light orange/purple color with a small fairly dense light pink head with solid retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy blueberries, fruit skin, lemon, orange, pear, melon, lavender, mint, honey, brown sugar, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of blueberries, lavender, and sugar notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/tart/tangy blueberries, fruit skin, lemon, orange, pear, melon, lavender, mint, honey, brown sugar, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light herbal/grassy/spicy bitterness and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of juicy/tart/tangy blueberries, fruit skin, lemon, orange, pear, melon, lavender, mint, honey, brown sugar, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of blueberries, lavender, and sugar flavors; with a nice malt/tart/bitterness balance; and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from bitter/tartness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and fairly sticky/tangy/tannic/sugary mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 6.5%. Overall this is a delicious gluten free fruit beer. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of blueberries, lavender, and sugar flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the mildly tart/bitter finish. This works really well for a gluten free beer, though I am not sure what the sugar source is from. Balanced blueberries, lavender spice, and sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.

Forgoing the grains for a viable gluten free option, the Wild Ohio brewing team brings a strong presence of both blueberries and lavender spice to a southern sweet tea taste.

Blueberry Lavender pours with a bright purple and mauve color. Spritzy carbonation falls still to look like fruit juices seconds after the pour. Rich fruit aromas of dark berries are front and center, along with the soft and candied spice of lavender for a perfumy counterpart. Herbal teas simmer in the backdrop while a sugary taste overtakes the early palate with honey and hard candy.

Even more sweet than the common off-the-shelf fruit juices, the blueberry infused beer is unrelenting on the middle palate. Sickly sweet and cloying, the beer's taste and texture is simple and confectionary. Southern sweet tea offers the only balance and intrigue after any lavender character dissipates during the taste. A long and sweet finish carries a hint of fruit skin bitterness with seed and stem.

Finishing medium full and sweet, Blueberry Lavender will rival the sweetness level in the most sugary wine cooler drinks. There's not much "beer" character as the grain substitutions, fruit and sugars seem much more like liquid candy than much else.
